Hydraulically engaged disc clutches are used more and more in combination with hydraulic converters for gearboxes in vehicles, like crawler tractors, construction machinery, rail vehicles and in shipbuilding for all winch drives. This construction has been proven successful in heavy boring and milling machines, as well as everywhere, where heavy bulks are accelerated via a small scaled clutches.
TYPE 48
Hydraulically engaged Multi-disc clutch
Series 8. This superceded the previous series 9.
In series 8 we created 5 modules. Each module consists of a number of same sized discs. The number of friction surfaces varies from 6, 8, 10 to 12, resulting in 4 different structural lengths, therefore with differing weight, filling volume, moment of inertia (kgm²)

Module 2 Ø 295 torque range max. 6400 - 25600 Nm
Module 3 Ø 370 torque range max. 12200 - 49000 Nm
Module 4 Ø 480 torque range max. 28600 - 115300 Nm
Module 5 Ø 620 torque range max. 56900 - 229800 Nm
Disc combination: Steel/Steel sintered. Internal oiling is possible depending on circumferential speed. Type with forced ventilation of disc stacks can be supplied.
